Wake By: Lisa McMann

Wake is a story about Janie, who unwittingly falls into other people’s dreams.  As she grows up she realises that she can control what happens in the dreams and finds help from the most unlikely people.

Cabel is a misunderstood loner.  No one seems to want to talk to him, until senoir year.  Everything about him changes and he starts falling for Janie.  Janie is afraid to let him get close because she sees things she shouldn’t and because she knows more about him than he knows she knows.

Janie and Cabel try to work things out but then evenrything is chaos and Janie finds out things about him that tear her heart apart.  Are they true?  Will Janie be able to come to trust him?  WIll she ever be able to fully control her power and get out of her mother’s house, or afford to go to college?

The wonderful novel by Lisa McMann starts off a little slow but after a few more pages she pulls you in and won’t let you go!  She is a very talented writer and I cannot wait for her next book “Fade” to come out.

  1. Loved this book! I’m with you. I have WAKE on my wish list.

  2. I’m probably going to pick this one up soon — sounds like a great, different YA read. It was a featured selection by Borders, too. Thanks for the review!
